The Child Safeguarding in Sport Badge is an open-entry award for young athletes aged 7-9 years, undertaken with a parent or caregiver's formal permission. Grounded in Standards 2, 3 and 4 of the 8 International Safeguards for Children in Sport, it introduces children to the foundations of staying safe in sport. Learners develop the knowledge to report safety concerns, recognise agreed sport values, identify trusted people they can talk to, distinguish friendly from unacceptable behaviour, and stay safe online. They also demonstrate practical skills by following safety instructions, spotting an unsafe element in a sport setting, and reporting a safety worry to a trusted person. Assessment is conducted under the direct supervision of a qualified or experienced coach in a real or simulated training environment.
